Meet Vasco, our Store Manager in Zermatt

Vasco, our Mountain Shop Zermatt Store Manager, is a true adventurer at heart, with a passion for many different activities, such as rock climbing, mountaineering, ski touring, kite surfing, or yoga. He is extremely versatile, always ready for the next challenge, and loves learning new things.

Vasco grew up in Ticino, where he started snowboarding at the age of 10. His passion for snowboarding soon turned into a profession, and he began teaching at the age of 18. He has since passed the highest qualification in Swiss snowboard education and accumulated experience in the snow sports industry. He managed the Snowpark in Zermatt during four years and was part of the snowmaking team for six consecutive seasons. Vasco knows the area like the back of his hand. He loves sharing his knowledge and expertise with others and takes pride in showing his customers the best that Zermatt has to offer.

Vasco is a curious and observant person fascinated by the diversity and contrasts in the world, especially in nature. He enjoys spending time with his family and finds peace in climbing and kitesurfing whenever he needs time to contemplate. He finds purpose and satisfaction in helping those around him and believes in being an example of the values he considers essential. "I am happy that my values completely align with the ones of Oberalp," says Vasco firmly. Respect for human rights is fundamental to Vasco. He is patient, disciplined, and determined, always looking for ways to improve in all areas.

As Mountain Shop Zermatt Manager, Vasco is responsible for ensuring that the store runs smoothly and that his team provides the best possible service to their customers. He is a team player with a good feeling for the people with the right skills for the job. His ability to listen and focus on the essentials helps him in his role as a manager, and he enjoys the diversity of products and the fact that there are always new things to learn.

Vasco says his motto is "it's never too late," and whoever knows him knows he is serious about this. He always pushes himself to new heights but is, at the same time, someone who will always put the team first. Vasco is a talented and passionate person who brings much expertise and experience to his Mountain Shop Zermatt Manager role. He sparkles with joie de vivre and is always ready for the next challenge.
